She currently lives with her husband in Los Angeles and is working on her next (a children's) book.

Very endearing, but very little of Batgirl!

You can't help but love Yvonne Craig as she recounts her days as a ballerina and actress in a very charming way, but I'm afraid Bat-fans will be sorely dissapointed that Ms. Craig tells very little of her days as Batgirl! Granted, it was a short period of her life and only one role of the many she has played but I dare say it's the one she's most famous for. However she does have some interesting anecdotes to tell about several famous people and also some odd stories concerning her curious love of exotic pets (an anteater?? who the hell wants THAT for a pet??).

A Joy To Read

Before opening Yvonne Craig's book "From Ballet To The Batcave And Beyond," I had read all the comments by readers, who had complained that too much of the book dealt with the ballet and with people whom Ms. Craig met while making movies and doing guest appearances on old television shows. Some seemed disappointed that there was nothing risque or "juicy," and that too many chapters were dedicated to subjects in which people who would read an Yvonne Craig autobiography would not be interested. I also read that there wasn't enough in the book about the "Batman" series. So, quite frankly, being a HUGE "Batman" fan, I half-expected to be bored by much, if not most, of this book.
WRONG!
Ms. Craig has such a delightful writing style, intelligence, a great vocabulary and a wonderful sense of humor, that I found the ENTIRE book just a JOY to read. So much so, that I, who know nothing about, and have virtually no interest in, the ballet, found even *those* sections of the book interesting and entertaining. And, although I am not what one might call an "animal lover," I immensely enjoyed her chapter dedicated to the animals in her life through the years.
Even her literary treatments of those individuals in Hollywood of whom she does not or did not seem to think very highly -- Lee Majors, Rudy Vallee, William Shatner, Charles Bronson -- were tasteful, and done with class and just the right amount of humor.
At the risk of sounding corny or something, it is apparent to me that there was once a May day when our Heavenly Father must have been quite pleased with this world, for on that day He gave us a most remarkable and special gift which we call "Yvonne."

Great, fun reading--"Bat-tastic!"

Having been fortunate enough to meet Ms. Craig a few years ago at a personal appearance of hers in Chicago and finding her to be an individual of great warmth and humor, I looked forward to this book coming out. And I wasn't disappointed. Ms. Craig, in these pages, further proves herself a winning individual: funny and earthy, with the rare gift (esp. among "show folk") of being able to take herself seriously but not TOO seriously. She's also a great storyteller--economical and insightful; and her common-sense asides are often laugh out loud funny.
Craig's book is also an interesting first-person account of the life of the journeyman actor. Like Bradford Dillman's equally fine memoir, "Are You Anybody?," she deftly takes the reader to an important transitional time in Hollywood history, from the waning days of the studio system to the more "free lance" film/TV world we have today.
But those wanting to read only about her adventures on the sets of "Batman" or "Star Trek" or any of her other film/TV credits won't be disappointed. She relates all sorts of inside "scoop" with great candor and, refreshingly, with an enormous deal of gratitude.

About the Author
Coach Bill Renner’s football coaching background uniquely qualifies him to understand what coaches and players need to coach and improve their kicking and punting. Coach Renner has 23 years’ of experience as a head football coach, 28 years overall coaching football. He has NFL playing experience and has consulted with college and NFL teams regarding coaching and training kickers and punters. He has coached four kickers and punters from his own team to college scholarships and one who played in the NFL. He has spent the past 30 years coaching and training high school, college and NFL players at his own camps and as a kicking consultant. Coach Renner has written books and articles on coaching kicking and punting techniques and he did his master’s thesis at Virginia Tech on punting. He has researched kicking and punting techniques and refined a kicking and punting training curriculum that over the past 30 years has produce elite kickers and punters. Coach Renner has recently retired from coaching football and is consulting and training coaches and players on football and kicking and punting techniques a full-time basis. Most of these are comprehensive monographs, with each one devoted to a separate complicated issue of the theory. Generally, the examples included in such books are very interesting from the point of view of mathematics, without necessarily having much practical value. Usually, they are written using complicated mathematical language, so that except in rare cases, their content becomes incomprehensible to engineers, researchers, students, and sometimes even to professors at technical universities. The present book deals only with those issues of stability of motion that most often are encountered in the solution of scientific and technical problems. This allows the author to explain the theory in a simple but rigorous manner without going into minute details that would be of interest only to specialists. Also, using appropriate examples, he demonstrates the process of investigating the stability of motion from the formulation of a problem and obtaining the differential equations of perturbed motion to complete analysis and recommendations. About one fourth of the examples are from various areas of science and technology. Moreover, some of the examples and the problems have an independent value in that they could be applicable to the design of various mechanisms and devices. The present translation is based on the third Russian edition of 1987.

This book is an introduction to the theory of stability of motion. The principal focus of the book is to present the most effective methods, such as the direct method of Liapunov, stability in the first-order approximation, and frequency methods, which can be used in studying stability issues. Other chapters are devoted to the treatment of nonautonomous systems, systems with periodic coefficients (including Mathieu-Hill equations), automatic control systems, and the effects of force type on stability of motion. These chapters also include relevant theorems which were proved for the first time by the author. The book contains many practical examples with detailed solutions from various areas of science and engineering involving both mechanical and electromechanical systems. Basically, the present book is written for graduate students in engineering; however, the required level of mathematics does not exceed that of a typical engineering undergraduate knowledge in calculus. The book should also benefit educators, engineers, and scientists who use the theory of stability of motion in their work.

About the Author
Bonnie G. Berger is professor and director of the School of Human Movement, Sport, & Leisure Studies at the Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Bonnie is a charter member, fellow, and certified consultant of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology (AAASP). Within AAASP, she has served as chair of the Certification Review Committee, and Health Psychology section chair. Robert S. Weinberg is a professor in the Department of Physical Education, Health, and Sport Studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Before coming to Miami University, Weinberg was a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of North Texas from 1978-1992 including Regents Professor from 1988-1992, Regents Faculty Lecturer in 1989 and Toulouse Scholar in 1990.Robert C. Eklund, PhD is presently a Professor and Chair in Physical Activity and Health in the School of Sport at the University of Stirling in Scotland although he served as the Distinguished Professor of Sport Psychology in the Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems at Florida State University in Tallahassee Florida while working on chapters for this book.

About the Author
Meredith Laurence, the Blue Jean Chef, has worked in numerous capacities and settings in the food world. After graduating from the New England Culinary Institute, she first honed her skills in two Michelin-rated restaurants in Les-Baux-de-Provence, France. She then went on to work as a line cook at Zuni Café in San Francisco and at Café Rouge in Berkeley, California. Great cookbook for the smaller pressure cooker!

I have a six qt electric pressure cooker but had recently bought a 4 qt one since most of our meals now are for just two people. This book has some great recipes. The pictures are very appetizing looking and excellent quality, the recipes are well-written and easy to understand and I find myself using my 4 qt pressure cooker a lot more often, now. Highly recommend this book to anyone who uses a pressure cooker!

Meredith's books are excellent. They have great tips about cooking general items in the pressure cooker, such as beans, rice, different types of meats and how long each take. The recipes are clear and easy to follow. I have been very impressed and have almost every cookbook she has put out. They're just that good!

He provides a glimpse of the mystic rites that used to take place in Ancient Egypt for people who had the desire and strength to become initiates in those times.

I never lost my fascination for the detail and beauty of each piece catalogued in this wonderful book, as well as the invaluable references to glass, bronze and "tag" authenticity. Mr. Neustadt truly loved L.C. Tiffany's work, and the photo overlay process used in the original book gave each shade it's true color and a rich depth. My book was well-loved, and so valuable as a reference at the time that it was unfortunately stolen from me before I had to give my work up to a carpal tunnel injury. I have since wished it would reappear at a lesser price, but the book is truly worth twice it's weight in gold to any Tiffany colorist or devotee. I now satisfy myself with an occaisional "fix" at the churches of Boston and Maine which are graced with the windows I love almost as much. I am glad to know where I might indulge myself in the purchase of this book, as I had thought at one time it was quite hard to find. A truly fantastic guide to the great variety of Tiffany Stvdios shades and bases.

I had the wonderful good fortune to find the LAMPS OF TIFFANY at a flea market and I'm delighted to say that I now own a copy of this beautiful book.
There are almost 300 delightful photographs of the lamps made by Louis Comfort Tiffany in this book and 238 of them are in color. Each picture is accompanied by a detailed description of the lamp. There are also chapters devoted to Glass, Lamp Bases, Fixtures, Shades and information about the many other details in these lamps. LAMPS OF TIFFANY allows us to enjoy the beauty of these fantastic works of art while learning something about the components of which they were made.
Since most of us can't afford a true Tiffany lamp, I have to say that many of the gorgeous reproductions that are made today are a tribute to the artistry of Mr. Tiffany.

Brilliant reference for Tiffany lamp builders or collectors

Artistry Stained Glass in Tempe, Arizona teaches extensive classes in Tiffany lamp building. With over 40 years combined lamp building experience, we find Egon Neustadt's book to be the most sought after reference for color, layout and even lamp base matching. We have other reference books, but this one is passed around from student to student, without fail.
It took me six months just to locate this book! It's good to see it's at least available now to others. Our customers use it for a reference as well, when we are commissioned to build a Tiffany reproduction lamp.
