FIVE STRANDS OF HOPE is about my journey from infertility, a horrendous triplet pregnancy to the birth of healthy triplets. Along the way, we faced varicocele surgery, miscarriages, failed IUIs, IVF, a quadruplet pregnancy that naturally reduced to triplets, preterm labor, incompetent cervix, gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia that occurred after the delivery.
After I suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage and three failed artificial insemination attempts, my first in vitro fertilization succeeded. Not only did it succeed, but with triplets! My joy was unbounded.
Then, at twenty-one weeks, I learned that my cevix was as thick as five strands of hair. If it collapsed under the pressure of triplets, my water would break and my babies wouldn't survive. When my doctor advised me to abort, my husband and I wouldn't consider it. My body was at fault, not my babies. I would do anything to give them a chance.
But that meant taking medication that could irrevocably damage their tiny hearts and possibly end their lives before they began. Then I had to make a choice no woman should be asked to make.
This is my story, but unfortunately it is not just mine. There are millions of women who have suffered infertility, preterm labor, miscarriages and worse.

I Believe in Hope

Casey's memoir is a touching story of love and hopelessness during a couple's journey through infertility, and the powerful strength they find in hope. Hers is an example of a strong family unit determined to survive and thrive through the worst of times. It tugs at the heart-strings, and leaves you with a sense that, with hope, dreams can come true.

A Tale of Love and Persistence

Though I will never carry triplets within my person, I am inspired by this gripping tale, to which we can all relate.
There are just a few things in life that matter, in the long run. Sometimes in pursuit of these important things, we encounter obstacles, even people, whose priorities are warped. The author encountered such obstacles in the form of highly trained professionals. Had the author not evaluated the circumstances on her own (without undue deference to the advice she was receiving), there would be considerably less joy in her life today.
Read this story. It will re-charge your batteries.

BEAUTIFUL STORY OF A MOTHER AND HER LOVE FOR HER UNBORN CHILDREN

This is a beautiful true story of a woman who loves her children with all of her being. A woman who will stop at nothing to bring her babies into this world healthy. As mothers we all love our children but Laura stops at nothing for her babies. Laura goes against all doctors advise when she feels that it is not the right thing for her children. Hard to put into words what a beautiful love story this is of a woman, her husband who is so very supportive and their child and children to be. Read this book if you want to believe in hope, love and the will to fight for your babies. If you are having trouble having children, please read "Five Strands of Hope", it will renew your energy to keep going. Don't know you Laura and Jack and your beautiful children but I fell in love with you while reading and I believe everyone else will too.
